Flowtools and LivingLegend create nothing but AutoCAD native entities, so you can always explode and manipulate entities using native commands if necessary and share your drawings with any AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT user.

Three basic tasks are required to create diagrams with FlowTools.

• Creating and modifying intelligent symbols
• Placing and manipulating symbols on your drawing
• Creating and editing connectors.

A FlowTools symbol is an AutoCAD block with additional data stored in the block definition that defines intelligent connection points and other information.

A FlowTools connector is a special type of block called an “anonymous” block that is akin to the way AutoCAD handles dimensions. Using AutoCAD’s “explode” command, you can explode connectors into polylines which can be turned back into connectors using the “IQ” tool.
